Once this week, after sahur(the time we muslims eat before sunrise), I got the urge to write something, but eventually I've got no time, hai..

So, I wanted to write about Islam, but now, I'm not as motivated to write, but still I don't care, I wanna write ;p Okay, for those Non-Muslims, you may take this to find out more about Islam, for Muslims, let's just take this as a reminder and correct me if I'm wrong. You may want to quit reading halfway, coz it's kinda long, no problem :)
Islam's a delicate topic, coz there's so much different views in this world, even amongst us Muslims. So here's my view on it, although I don't know that much :X
Not only in Singapore, all over this planet, we view Islam as a strict religion. Well, one's definition of a religion is important. If the definition of religion is to guide us to have fun on Earth and heck about anything else, I'd rather have no religion and I could just suicide anytime or even worse, be a pornstar or something LOL. A person with a strict religion is like a country having strict laws, like Singapore like that. See how successful Singapore is, although I don't like it that much, heh. Hmm, I shall not call it laws, guideline's a better word. Yea, guidelines. They're made not to be a burden, but to help and guide us along this uneven life to lead us hereafter. I tell you, those Muslims who are really faithful, they're really successful, not only here on Earth, but during afterlife too, Insyaallah ;)
You may ask why us Malay Muslims, especially we males, are laid back? Well, firstly, we malays know how to have fun, lol. And secondly, we can't be that engrossed on what the Earth have to offer, coz we ain't gonna live here forever, and all the success on Earth's just temporary. Well, the life here is just to prepare us for the afterlife, which we'll live for eternity. Yea, we must have a strong believe that there's an afterlife first before everything can make sense, and I know there is. And the gates to heaven is now opening out really wide waiting for those prayers, especially during this wonderful month of Ramadhan ;D
Hmm, I can't deny that Islam has a number of laws(guidelines) form different aspects of life. But isn't it for the better? Yea, it's to help us, not to be a burden(repeated). Like how Singapore banned the eating of chewing gum. Yea, it's for the economic growth as it pays alot(about few ten of thousands?), before, to pay those workers to get rid of those thrown chewed gum on the floor around this island.
Yea, it's not to show off to other countries that we're a powerful and strict country. We can live with it, but it's just sometimes that we can be a rebel and being tempted to bring in some chewing gum(if you deny, you're not a singaporean) Yea, it's for the better, just like the guidelines in Islam, like us not to have tattoo. Cmon, firstly, it looks horrible right, and it'll spoil the skin. And secondly, it'll block the pores of the skin on receiving water, thus, our ablution(the washing ritual we do before each prayers) will be not successful, thus, our prayers too. But fret not, those who had tattoos, who realized their mistake, can too continue their Islamic way of life, it's not over. We have our ways, Islam's flexible ;D
"I thought Islam cannot using vulgar words while fasting?" "I thought Islam cannot eat pig?" Islam can, anytime, it's just a religion... but Muslims cannot, get your terms right first lah dey. And I'm not a religious leader or something that could answer those questions in detail. Yea... you all know those vulgar words are not beautiful to the ears, and about eating pork or pig or it's relatives. Imagine eating a pig who'd eaten worms and even it's own poo, i'm so mean *goosebumbs. Nah... like the latest flu which was caused by pigs, remember? Yea, it's for health reasons and for our own good.
Yea, we've been talking about the "can'ts" in Islam, that's the problem nowadays. We've been mentioning about why we can't eat pig, we've been talking why do Muslim girls have to wear that clothe(tudung) on the head, we've been talking why we Muslims must fast, we've been talking why Muslims boys must go for fridays, we've been talking why Muslims can't in Un-Halal food, we've been talking why Muslims boys can't dress like a gay, we've been talking about why Muslims can't this lah, that lah.
Yea, there's sins but there's blessings too.
We've never talk about what Muslims can do, and what it can offer. We've never mention about what we get in return for those good deeds we do, we've never mention that fasting will give your stomach a rest and promotes cell and tissue growth, we've never mention that it's unhealthy to eat pork as there's a high chance of infectious diseases, we've never mention that wearing the tudung on the head will cover the womanity(?) and protect the woman as the guys will get less tempted to stare or simply, less chance of getting rapped(lol), we've never mention that having sex before marriage will lead to addiction and more chance of getting STDs(i think the sec schools here did mention, and they did a good job *thumbs up), we've never mention that there's maths and science knowledge in the Quran(like the one it mentioned about having another planet other than the 9 planets, and guess what?) we've never mention that God, Allah, is an almighty and forgiving God who'll be happy enough when we Muslims go to him and seek forgiveness. Oh cmon, God's not that bad right, he'll be there whenever we are, although sometimes we're just too proud and forget about Him. Yea, there's lots more. All written from the Quran(God's words). Yea... even MM Mr. Lee Kuan Yew uses the Quran to guide him with his administrative stuffs. Yea, it's awesomee
Yea, we've not been mentioning what's the advantages about being a Muslim.let's do something for a change. And yea, and it's common for teenagers do things that is against the law and Islam. And most of the time, humans are just practical creatures. We've to see God in order to believe He's there and to worship Him. Cmonn, if we can't see satan, how could we even see God. Yea, that's what my Uztaz(religious teacher) told me, and he told this too, "Just believe in Allah, God, although you will never get to see him literally, coz our of our naked eyes which are too weak. Believe in him, and He'll believe in you. Although you tend to forget and deny his presence, He'll ever be there to accept your forgiveness and prayers whenever you need him."
And I'll share with you on what he said about fasting(man, i love my uztaz)
Once, there's 2 people who went to met God, let's just call them Person A and Person B. God asked A, "Who are you, and who am I?" Person A asnwered, "I am myself, and you are my one God" God asked B the same question, and he asnwered, "I am myself and you are yourself" God was dissapointed and decided to put B in hellfire, until B was released. So, God asked again, and B answered "I am myself, and you are yourself" God did the same thing, and B answered the same thing. Thus, we resorted on not giving food and drink to B. It took quite a while, but eventually, B gave up and answered, "I am myself and you are my God, my only one God." So, who is Person A and who is Person B here? Person A is your Nafsu, or desire to do something. Person B is your Akal or your right state of thinking. Without nafsu, you'll be like angels who does not eat and all coz they've no desire to do other things. Without nafsu, you're as good as an animal coz they've got no brain(so to speak) and do whatever they want to without thinking of the consequences with their Akal. So yea, you'll need both to live on Earth, with Nafsu, you'll have the desire and the aim in life, with Akal, you can make the wise and right decision. So, it depends on which overpower which. Thus, fasting is like something to train your Nafsu to resist temptations and all, so yeaa, and they both live happily ever after, in ourselves(get it?) nvm...
So what is it about Islam? I don't know much I repeat, but from what I know, it's about being a slave to God, and to carry out our tasks assigned here on Earth(which is to fast, solat, spread the knowledge of Islam, etc). Yea.. living in our luxury, with toilet and all, too much for a slave huh, yea.. God's isn't that bad, I <3>
So do I like my religion? Yea, not really engrossed and I don't worship it, coz it's just a religion, but it's God that I'm engrossed with and worship to. Coz everything about Islam circulates around God. Yea, having Him to seek attention and help is great. Life isn't that bad, when God's around. Yea, it's kinda hard to ask for His help, as we're so used to find help physically, and not spritually. Me too, sometimes I wanna find help, I didn't know that God's there to help as I couldn't see Him physically. So yea, but fret not, don't be aftraid, He'll be there. Eventually, after it becomes somewhat normal and a habit, it's easier to do and you'll see what He'll do for us on Earth to help. It comes in many variation, yea.. you'll see ;)
Yea.. that's why we Muslims can be somewhat more faithful and strict with our dressing and all, coz of the great trust with God. Yea.. until some people have to be a suicide bomber and crash the Time Square(the sept 11 incident). I'm sorry for those innocent lives which was at stake, So yea... but but, suiciding and crashing a building claiming for a religion? in America summore? Isn't that cool or what?! I mean even those big shot gangsters and mafia don't dare to do that for their gang. yea.. and it's against Islam btw, its not allowed to suicide at the first place. If it was allowed, you'll see us bombing every inch of this planet. Anws, yea, it's kinda cool, they're like the representatives for those poor countries in the Middle East, yea not Islam, saying, "Don't mess with us poor countries, America!" Yea.. and you know what, there's lots of people who converted to Islam after that incident, due to statistics, no kidding.
