I was feeling lucky this thursday. I went to Ngee Ann Poly for the Wonder Of Science competition or something. It's about teaching and presenting science concepts to a non-scientists in a fun way. Yeap, it was the preliminaries and my group was the last group to present. Stanley's was the 8th.
Team by team, they presented. And their work were soo powerr and soo chim. Well, I wasn't really paying attention as I was busy improvising. There were presentations on apples, mentos and coke(this was coool), batteries and lotss more. Yeaaa, it was interesting but I had no clue what the concepts were coz I was at the back doing something else and normally, it's hard to absorb those einstein-science.
After every presentation, the judges(real scientists) would ask lots of question. They bombarded chimm, hardcore questions. Worse than Simon Cowell I tell you. And it's Stanley's, Aaron's and Tevence's turn to present. They were presenting on cooking with microwaves. And after which, the judges were bombarding them with questions, and I was scarededed. They answered those questions pretty well but it looked more like an arguement between them and the judges. Impressive.
Soooo, our turn came up. And I was the first presenter. And I presented and GH, SH, ZH presented simultaneously. Well, being the last group was intimidating. That's for sure. Coz the audience were hungry and tired and sleepy. Ohh ya, our presentation was on refraction. Yup, physics. And how we made this beaker vanish in thick oil in a beaker. The judges didn't ask much questions except for his internal refraction which I didn't really bother about. Oh ya, this is super funny. I answered most of the questions on behalf of my teammates and I looked as if I was the Know-It-All in the team, LOL. Anyways, yeaaa, it's quite simple but I hope that it was interesting too.
The lucky draw came... there was 10 winners. Well, I'm not a lucky draw person. Yea, so it didn't really matter much. The last name was called, and it was mine! Haha, finally Soo, the results. Both Stanley's and my group's posters were sent to the finals. Sooo, the results for teams that's going to the finals. Thank God, our group made it! All the time-wasting on slides, brainstorming, experimenting, it pays off afterall. Ohhh, I'm a happy bumble bee. Yup, the finals is in 2 weeks time at Ngee Ann's Convention Centre. Ohh laa laa. But this means more vigorous meetings and touch ups. Yeaa, more work to be done, only half way through. But nevermind about that. Cmon my fellow classmates, go support, go support!
